September 28, 2005 regular village board meeting
Village of Wonewoc Proceeding of regular Village Board meeting September 28, 2005.
The meeting was called to order pursuant to the posted and published notice. The meeting was called to order at 7:00pm. The following trustees present for meeting: Norling, Jennings, Roehling, Miller, Ott, and Decot. Field arrived at 7:25pm.
Motion by Jennings, seconded by Ott to approve the bills and vouchers for the month of September. Motion carried.
Motion by Ott, seconded by Norling to approve the minutes of the August 24, 2005 board meeting. Discussion was on the amount of barking dogs and dog at large issues. All agreed to monitor issue on a month-to-month basis. Motion carried.
Police Report—Chief Ott reported on Police activities for the month of August. There were 87 calls for service. Letter and citations were issued for burning on property. One citation was given for burning garbage. The number of theft and property crimes has decreased. Public nuisance is the majority of calls. The first Municipal Court date is October 25, 2005. Chief Ott also gave each board member a copy of the proposed police budget.
Agenda:
1. Motion by Norling, seconded by Miller to have Fall Clean Up Days October 6, 7 and 8. Motion carried. The hours of operation will be 9:00am to 6:00pm Thursday and Friday and 7:00am to 11:00am on Saturday.
2. Motion to sign the Mutual Aid Agreement with Municipal Electric Utilities of Wisconsin (MEUW) by Field as long as there is not additional insurance cost to the Village. Seconded by Norling. Motion carried.
3. Discussion on annexation request by Rick Braun, Three Castles Airpark. A letter will be sent to Mr. Braun requesting additional information and requesting a meeting with him.
4. Motion by Roehling for part-time police officer’s hours not to exceed 350 hour for the year 2005. Seconded by Miller. Motion carried.
5. Motion by Miller, seconded by Field that the squad shall leave the Village limits for official business and for lunch breaks not to exceed 1 hour. The most direct route shall be taken and windows in the Village garage shall have etched glass placed in them. Motion carried.
6. Motion by Field for a 5 year inspection of Village sidewalks by Village employees. The Board will back decisions made by employees as to need for sidewalk repair/replacement. Seconded by Roehling. Motion carried. (6 Ayes, 1 Nay)
Public Comment:
1. None .
Communication/Announcements:
1. Reeder reported that Voter Registration is going more smoothly than originally thought. In order to register to vote, a resident can provide either WI drivers license, social security card or some other proof of residency within the Village.
2. Budget request need to be complied and given to the Administrator as soon as possible.
3. Bohn reported that the Village did not receive notification of a MISIP meeting in Mauston. As a result the Village lost out on a chance for approximately $30,000 of grant money for streets.
Motion by Jennings, seconded by Roehling to adjourn at 9:55pm. Motion carried.
