August 24, 2005 regular village board meeting
Village of Wonewoc Proceeding of regular Village Board meeting August 24, 2005.
The meeting was called to order pursuant to the posted and published notice. The meeting was called to order at 7:00pm. The following trustees present for meeting: Field, Norling, Jennings, Roehling, Miller, Ott, and Decot.
Motion by Jennings, seconded by Norling to approve the bills and vouchers for the month of August. Motion carried.
Motion by Norling, seconded by Field to approve the minutes of the July 27, 2005 board meeting. Motion carried.
Police Report—Chief Ott reported on Police activities for the month of July. There were 68 calls for service. There has been an increase in animals at large, thefts from vehicles and public nuisance calls.
Agenda:
1. Motion by Field, seconded by Roehling to approve a Temporary Class “B” License to sell fermented malt beverages at picnics or similar gatherings under s.125.26(6), Wis, Stats. for Wonewoc Area Fire Department for Hunter’s Night Out on September 10 and 11, 2005. Motion carried.
2. Motion by Norling, seconded by Jennings to approve a Class “B” Beer and Class “B” Liquor Licenses for Bernice and Darryl Bronk d/b/a Bernie’s Wagon Wheel II. Motion carried.
3. Motion by Field, seconded by Ott to approve Operator’s Licenses for Richard W. Suhr, John C. Jefferies, Benjamin D. Bronk and Tyson K. Schuette. Motion carried.
4. Motion by Field, seconded by Ott to approve a Cigarette License for Bernice Bronk d/b/a Bernie’s Wagon Wheel II. Motion carried.
5. President Decot announced that he would like to appoint Margaret Hubele and Julie Lankey-Smallwood to the Library Board. Motion by Jennings, seconded by Miller to appoint Margaret Hubele and Julie Lankey-Smallwood to the Library Board. Motion carried.
6. Motion by Roehling, seconded by Ott to allow the Bank of Wonewoc to use the Village downtown parking lot on Thursday, September 15, 2005 from 8:00am to 5:00pm for their Customer Appreciation Day. Motion carried.
7. Attorney Roy told the Board that the Village has received an injury claim from Michael LeFevre.
8. Discussion regarding limiting the number of animals a person may have in the Village limits. Discussed was limiting by species, number and type. The Village Administrator will get copies of ordinances from other communities. The Police should tighten up and issue tickets to repeat offenders.
9. Juneau County is seal coating the center of East St. The Village portion can be funded from either one of the Highway Matching Funds. One fund is for Village streets and the other fund is for County roads that go through the Village. Motion by Roehling, seconded by Ott to take the Village portion of seal coating East Street from the fund for Village streets not to exceed $3,000. Motion carried. Field stated that he felt the fund for County roads going through the Village should be left in tack so that it can increase in size and be used in the future to re-build East St.
Public Comment:
1. Rick Braun, owner Three Castles Air Park, addressed the Board. He would like to be annexed into the Village as he plans to develop the Air Park and have approximately 70 homes.

Communication/Announcements:
1. Jennings reported that Alliant will be doing substation work in the Village. Service will have to be down for approximately 10 hours for them to do the work. Don Hubele will be meeting with them tomorrow. He is going to request that the work be done on Friday, September 23 since Merrick's is closed on Friday and the Lutheran School will be closed that day.
2. Attorney Roy reported that the Laundromat property is for sale and the Village has a right to repurchase it at the same price as a bonified purchaser.
3. Norling said he has been looking at portable ice rinks. He has found on with a 5 year life that is 60’ x 120’. It is a heavy duty liner with sides on it. Cost is approximately $1,000.
Motion by Roehling, seconded by Norling to adjourn at 8:47pm. Motion carried.
